Laika's web service was down for about 15 minutes at 4:40 today due to some webserver configuration problems.
Up and running again now.

Our 1300 760 850 number was unavailable from 11am until 12:30pm on the 12th of January. Some callers have been experiencing occasional ring out or engaged tone.

k9 server network down - datacentre outage/DD (Resolved)

[ersolved. Datacentre is adding new connections to prevent this happening again.]
Our US-based k9 server (dogfrog3.net) is down because the network connection to the datacentre is down due to a large DDOS.
Techs have been working on it since the outage started, expecting service restoration within the hour.

laika server connectivity to some US location (Resolved)

[Datacentre fixed this around 15:25 Melbourne time]
Our laika (dogfrog5) server has had issues connecting to some US-based IP ranges since early this morning.
This issue has been passed onto the datacentre networking team and we expect a resolution within the next few hours.
If you are impacted, please advise us and we'll update you on progress.

k9 server DC down (Resolved)

Network connection to our K9 server is down at the datacentre as of 12:45am early this morning.
They're working on it and we expect the server to be available again within the next few hours (ie by approx 3am).
We'll update this with news as it becomes available.

Update: The server is now up and running as of 1:27am; issue was related to a network issue at the Datacenter.

doc httpd restarts (Resolved)

Our server 'doc' has been under heavy httpd load (apparently a small attack). This has been causing the webserver to become biefly unavailable every 30 - 60 mins. We were able to resolve this by around 9pm after tesing/trialling a number of fixes.

Update: 9/10/2015
cPanel has released a fix for the underlying issue that caused the server to crash in the first place. It has affected multiple servers worldwide. (This is the first time in about 6 years that cPanel has released a seriously problematic release).

Server up again, running on new hardware.

Server has crashed and we're working with the datacentre to get it repaired as soon as possible.
6am update - we're moving disks to a new server.

The server is available again and we are looking into the cause at the moment. A number of different providers appear to have been affected.

AU servers physical move (Resolved)

The datacentre is moving two of our Australian servers (laika and rover, dogfrog5 and dogfrog6) to a new physical location.
Although they have said it may take up to 8 hours overnight (ending 6am) we expect it to take around half of that (ending 2am).
Apologies for any inconvenience; the move is to a newer facility that will better support our service into the future.
