Email error message "Server Response: '550 Access denied - Invalid HELO name' "

"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'example@mydomain.com.au ' Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.mydomain.com.au', Server: 'mail.mydomain.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Access denied - Invalid HELO name (See RFC2821 4.1.1.1)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

I get the above error message, what do i do?

First thing is to check your outgoing server port number. It should be set to 26 (it's normally 25 by default).
Secondly make sure that the "My outgoing server requires authentication" check box is ticked (use the same username and password as for your incoming mail server). These settings are usually located under "Outgoing Server" tab in advanced account settings.
